Grade Level Competitions: starting tomorrow–Saturday 9/8–we will have opportunities for each grade level to show their spirit and compete in various competitions to earn points for their class. There will be a scoreboard in Building 2 that is updated multiple times a day and the winning class will receive a ‘sweet and special’ reward at the homecoming dance on 9/15. PLAY TO WIN!!!

Details for Saturday 9/8 Hallway Decorating: we invite all students and their parents/guardians to help decorate their grade level’s designated hallway between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Saturday 9/8 and/or Monday 9/9 between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM. At 8:00 AM sharp on Monday the judging panel will do hallway walk-through’s to determine the winner. There will be very limited decorating supplies on hand at the school so we encourage participating students and their parents/guardians to bring items from home; bonus points will be given to grade levels that use recycled items!!!

Homecoming Court Royalty: any student may apply for Royalty this year. Application is required–see Mr. Carter if you want to apply. All voting will occur at Thursday’s soccer and football homecoming games.

Thursday’s Pep Rally & Activities Fair: we will have an early release day on Thursday so all students can attend a brief pep rally and then browse school and community activity/organization booths. At approximately 1:10 we will dismiss all students outside for our pep rally and then immediately transition into the activities fair that will include the following: over twenty club/activity booths to promote involvement, volunteerism, and education; multiple Student Council-led games; an amazing obstacle course; a parent tailgate; three food trucks selling tacos, tortas, burgers, fries, and snow cones. At 3:15 a bus will transport fans to All City Stadium for our soccer and football games. The Royaly Court finalists will be there to meet and greet the community at half time and voting will take place. If you still haven’t purchased your bus ticket, do so today!! The $25 ticket includes two-way transport to both games, admission to both games, and a nacho and hot dog food voucher. See Mr. Houston for details and to buy tickets.

Rage the Red Carpet Homecoming Dance: The dance will be in NHS Building 1 from 8 to 11 on Saturday 9/15. A single ticket is $15 and for a couple it is $25. Tickets will be $20 at the door so buy early and save!! See any Student Council member to buy your ticket. If you plan to bring a guest to the dance who is not a current NHS student, you must complete the guest form and turn into Ms. Romano by Friday 9/14 or else your guest will not be accepted. Finally, as it was stated in this week’s seminar class, you must have 93% attendance and no behavior incidents to attend the dance.

If your parent/guardian would like to be involved in the week, please have them reach out to Ms. Wickham at [email protected]

It’s a GREAT week to be a NIGHTHAWK!!!
